In 2019 Blake and I had the opportunity to travel to Cartagena, Colombia with my company! It was such a great trip and in fact it is the last trip we have been on just the two of us because of everything going on in the World! (Insert sad face here because of canceled trips to Fiji, Thailand, and Turks & Caicos) There's SO much I could tell you about the trip like; the headless guy who scared us all half to death, how I'm pretty sure I had a heat stroke, the beautiful historic hotel we stayed at and the island we had all to ourselves. But I'm saving all that for another day. Today we are talking about food... of course!I'm a picky eater. Did you know that? My mother inlaw jokes that when Blake and I started dating all I ate was hamburgers and pizza..... and that's not far from the truth! I've gotten better as I've gotten older but I've also learned that I don't like to be hungry and I just can't stomach "some" things. And some of those things are foods i'm not familiar with in foreign (to me) places. So Colombia was "fun" when it came to food. I lived off of pineapple pizza and waffles for a week and to my surprise lost 5lbs. Back in 2019 I wasn't tracking my macros and losing 5lbs was a huge deal... once I got home I gained it all right back but that's not what we are talking about today!!
While in Cartagena we did some sight-seeing and on one of those days ours friends Nichole and Justin joined us to check out the fortress of Castillo San Felipe de Barajas. I don't know if I told Nichole how hungry I was or if she just offered up a part of her snack to be nice but this is where the obsession began! I remember telling her "no thanks" at first because I've never been a fan of protein bars. I've tried them all, and they all taste "ehh" to me. They are either chewy and get stuck in my teeth or I just don't like the way they taste. But Nichole insisted that these were different and I should try them.... and she was right! I placed an order online before we left so I could try them again once I was home and not starving!
I'm pretty sure I've eaten a G2G bar every single day for the last two years. Don't let the calories or macro break down scare you. This bar is bigger than most protein bars and most certainly worth the calories. You could even eat half of it, I've never successfully done that... but you could! LOL
All of this to say- when we are on the go or need a quick snack G2G bars are our go to. We've been loving them for years and I finally have a discount code I can share with my friends! Mica15 saves you 15% off your order! My personal favorites are the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and the Almond Mocha, Blake loves the Almond Chocolate Chip.
Trust me on this one, you need this in you live ASAP! You can shop
