6 months between the two photos & 25lbs lost! No special drinks, no weight loss pills or “pay to lose weight” type of stuff.
Of course sacrifices were made but I continued eating the foods I love! And looking back, during my weight loss I was probably eating more food than I had been before @ 25+ pounds heavier. Because the quality of food changed drastically! I've worked hard in the gym for 5 years but could never move the scale because of my nutrition. But this time was different and my mind was so set on what I wanted and my goals that I refused to fail.
So how & why the change you might ask?
One day during early quarantine (May 2020) I sat on the couch and felt so chubby, my shorts were tight, none of my other clothes were fitting and I was so uncomfortable. And that's when I decided I needed to make a change.
I was already familiar with macro counting and knew that it was a slow, sustainable, and healthy way to lose weight. I had tried macro counting before but never had a plan in the kitchen and would end up at my favorite restaurant a few miles down the road within the first few days. However, with the 2020 pandemic causing all restaurants to be closed down, I was having to eat at home. So I decided to make a plan & make those meals healthy + actually track what I was putting into my body! And SURPRISE! The fat started melting off.
The time will pass no matter what, might as well do the thing. Is the way I looked at it. And today is ONE year later! Not only has the weight stayed off but I feel better than ever! My performance in the crossfit gym has improved (made the CF quater-finals!!!) and I've fallen in love with running again!
In my following blogs I'll start sharing about the change in foods and meals that made the biggest difference! I'm also going to break down the dreaded "meal prepping" and how to make a plan! Make sure to subscribe with your email to get notified of my new blogs!
